Our annual WHCT tournament is a recreational
tournament and in previous years we have seen the calibre of many
teams increasing beyond the level of play of our league. We
feel therefore, that it is now necessary to define fairly stringent
criteria for any teams wishing to enter the tournament, so that
a balance is achieved without any unfairness.
Please be sure that you read the following and
fill out the attached team registration form accurately. Please
also note that there is a waiver at the bottom of the team registration
form that should be signed by either the team contact or the team
coach after all individuals have filled in their particular information
about level of play, etc.
| |
A maximum of two (2) current
or previous A level players OR
Excellent Skill
Level Equivalent is allowed |
| |
a maximum of three (3) B or BB level players
OR Average+ Skill Level Equivalent
are allowed |
| |
Fully OWHA sanctioned teams are not eligible to participate
(however, you may have OWHA sanctioned players on your team,
as long as the team meets the criteria listed here) |
| |
A maximum of 17 players are allowed on each
team, with at least 2 beginners (a beginner is defined as a
woman not having played any ice hockey or ringette, organized
or unorganized (shinny included), for more than 2 years) See
our Skill Level Equivalent
for further guidelines on what we consider a Beginner |
| |
Failure to comply with any of the above will
result in removal from the tournament, with no refund of registration
fee |
 |

If a WHCT player is also
registered with an outside team that is entering the tournament,
the player must play for their WHCT team. If the player’s WHCT
team is not entering the tournament, then the player will be
placed on another WHCT team, if players are needed. If no players
are needed then the WHCT player may play for their outside team. |
| |
WHCT teams may not add players from outside
of the WHCT. However, if any teams are short of players, and
there are WHCT players whose teams do not enter the tournament,
these players may be placed onto teams to fill any gaps. |
