The Madison Gay
Hockey Association's Tournament
Committee is pleased to announce the
opening of registration for the
2010 MGHA Classic Gay Hockey
Tournament.
The tournament will
be held Friday, April 30th
through Sunday, May 2nd at
Capitol Ice Arena in Middleton.
We will be utilizing their two
rinks, offering teams a minimum of
three games. There are to be two
divisions individuals can enter,
recreational and competitive.
The registration fee
is $65, which includes a jersey and
the reception on Saturday, May 1st
at the Brass Ring in Madison. Teams
from all over the United States,
Canada, and Europe have been
invited, and there is excitement
over the addition of a Midwestern
gay hockey tournament. This is a
great opportunity to meet and play
with and against players from other
organizations from all over.
The
tournament page has all of the
pertinent details. Follow this
link to go directly to
registration. A FAQs page is right
here. Please email
MGHAClassicInfo@madisongayhockey.org
with any questions, comments,
assistance on deciding which
division to enter or any general
arm-twisting needs.

The League Championship was won by
Urbane Cyclist in a tight game against Slack's. Congratulations to the Shallow Lake
Lightning who won an exciting final against our own CONXity.com in
the Championship round of the tournament. The Consolation
round was an equally exciting finish with Caledon Cairn's Roofing defeating the feisty Tornadoes.
In honour of Nancy Hazelgrove, a longtime W.H.C.T. player,
who lost her fight with cancer in the spring of 2000, the
league will once again donate all proceeds from this year's
Hockey Wives Game to
Gilda's Club Greater Toronto. Nancy's love of hockey,
her sportsmanship, and team spirit is greatly missed in the
league. Always a fun, charitable event, this year the Hockey
Wives game was held on January 31, 2008 at 8:00pm. Thank you
to everyone who participated and donated.

The success of the W.H.C.T. is a result of the commitment of its members to abiding by the founding spirit of the league. That spirit is to play the game of hockey in a sportsmanlike manner respecting not only your teammates and opposing players, but also the referees, timekeepers, Moss Park Arena staff and members of the W.H.C.T. Collective.
We ask that you keep this spirit in mind.
We recognize that hockey is an emotional game but please keep in mind that your actions reflect not only on you, but also on your team and the league as a whole.
In particular, please recall that Moss Park Arena staff members have been very accommodating to the league over the years. The recent renovations have had some glitches, but that is not the fault of the staff. Please interact with them respectfully.
Thank you for your cooperation. Enjoy the game and have a safe and
happy holiday season.
