The Women's Hockey Club of Toronto (WHCT)
is an adult recreational non-body-checking ice hockey league open
to women who are gay and/or gay-positive. Our season normally runs from September
until the end of April and we play out of Moss
Park Arena in downtown Toronto every Saturday evening. Our 17th
season begins September 12, 2009 with 14 teams and 210 members - as far
as we know, one of the largest lesbian/lesbian-positive leagues
in North America!
To create an environment where all lesbian
and gay-positive women are encouraged to participate, regardless
of their experience or skill level. To allow equal access to all
lesbian and gay-positive women by providing financial options and
solutions that work towards breaking cost-prohibitive barriers.
To develop an organization that provides its members with the opportunity
to meet other women with similar interests.
The league is full, though we are still looking for goalies.
